Yes. Participants actively assist with immobilisations, health assessments, monitoring, and conservation work under the supervision of experienced wildlife veterinarians. Safety and animal welfare always come first.
Groups are intentionally kept small (typically 6–8 participants) to maximise learning, access to cases, and time in the field.
We provide a full packing guide after booking. Generally you will need neutral field clothing, sturdy boots, sunscreen, personal medications, and a sense of adventure.
Conditions vary by destination and season. Expect warm days, cooler mornings and evenings, with coastal humidity in Zanzibar. Full climate details are shared before departure.
Programme fees cover accommodation, meals, fieldwork, airport transfers, equipment and in-country transport. International flights, travel insurance, visas and personal spending are not included.
Yes. Transfers from the nearest international airport and all transport during the programme are included.
Visa requirements depend on your nationality and destination. Most travellers can obtain tourist visas easily. We provide guidance after booking.
Our programmes are open to everyone with a passion for wildlife and conservation, including families travelling with children and solo travellers, as well as veterinary and zoology students, veterinary nurses and technicians, qualified veterinarians, conservation and marine biology students, gap-year travellers, career changers, researchers, and wildlife enthusiasts. No prior wildlife experience is required. There is no minimum age; children must travel with a parent or legal guardian, and all participation remains subject to programme safety requirements.
You receive a signed CPD certificate and activity log at the end of your programme to submit to your professional body.
A 50% deposit secures your place. The balance is due 30 days before the programme start date. We will always try to move your booking if plans change.
Yes — groups of 3 or more receive a 20% discount. Universities and veterinary societies can also request private programme dates.
